STILL POINT
Still Point is a selection of jewellery by Zoë Veness that reflects her interest in evocations of time through repetitive making processes and intricately detailed forms. Central to her work is a folding method with thin strips of paper that are interwoven onto steel cable and looped into neckpieces or combined with silver to create brooch designs. Her experimental making process incrementally evolves with slight adjustments to folding systems and colour combinations, each work gradually testing new ideas along reflective paths of enquiry. The notion of a still point alludes to the sense of coherence she seeks in her jewellery through harmonious synergies between the rhythmical patterns of the paper folds, the interplay of colour sequences, and the perpetual movement of the looped forms.
