Marcos Guzman

Australia,

Marcos Guzman is a Melbourne based artist working in acrylic and consumer plastics. Eschewing industrial processes for a considered handmade approach, Marcos uncovers the subtle and precious qualities of his chosen material. His use of vivid colour and graphic line work evoke a sense of nostalgia, while his evocative titles imbue each piece with a suggested narrative.

Marcos studied Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University, graduating with Honours in 2013. In 2014, he was selected to participate in Craft Victoria’s Fresh!, and was a finalist in the inaugural Mari Funaki Award for Contemporary Jewellery. In 2016, Marcos was invited to exhibit in 5×7, a group show at Gallery Funaki showcasing the work of early career Australian makers.

His work is held in the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
